As autumn is finally upon us, I’ve had to go through the process of switching out my summer clothes from my wardrobe and putting my winter clothes back in. I’ve decided to sell quite a few winter dresses from last year that I’ll no long wear over on my Depop, click here to check those out!
Lucky for us, the weather hasn’t gone straight into cold, wet autumn like usual! We still don’t need our coats yet, some days I haven’t even needed a jacket! Although, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to start wearing coats again – I’ve already bought 2 new ones! And its barely even cold!
Usually, once the weather turns I regress back to jeans and hoodies, but this year I really want to make more of an effort to not look like a slob 24/7 (sometimes is okay though).
I put together this outfit based around the skirt as the focal piece. Checks seem to be a huge trend this autumn/winter – though I’ve been obsessed with checks since last winter. Although they were also seen in outfits rivalling those seen in the 1995 film ‘Clueless’ over the summer, for winter you can pair them with black and leather components for that punk 80’s vibe – another big trend I’ve noticed coming back this autumn/winter!
Although I have my legs out, this outfit is still very warm! The rib-knit turtle neck is very jumper like and my knee-high socks give that added protection to my legs. I’m also happy to finally be whipping out my trusty Dr Martens again! I’ve had this pair for 5 years now and they basically still look brand new, despite wearing them almost every day for the first year! These are a must have pairs of shoes on my list for anyone’s wardrobe!
You can always add a coat over the top too! I suggest a leather jacket like this or a teddy fur coat like this to really continue that 80’s punk vibe. This punk style is very up my alley and I’m excited to see more of this over the autumn winter period.
This outfit is very simple. With no need for a belt – thanks to the buckle detail on the skirt you get an amazing vibe effortlessly! But, you can always add more to it with other accessories if you wish!
