Okay, so, I’m no model, we’ve established this. But, it seems that sometimes you can catch a good photo of me – or at least Yasmine can.
I’ve never done something like this before. I quite enjoyed being in front of the camera and spending the day with Yasmine roaming around Digbeth finding aesthetic places to shoot. Although it’s not too hard to find aesthetic places in Digbeth, gosh I love Digbeth.
I’m usually the one taking the photos where ever I go, I’m the one saving the memories and trying to get the best angles and taking other people’s profile pictures, so it was nice to work with Yasmine to get more complex angles and also good quality photos of myself. It was like a little spa trip for my ego. I’m comfortable behind the camera, you’ve just got to tell me when I’m pulling a strange face or frowning or something like that, because I have zero control over my own face – it’s a real big issue in my life, I cant hide much, it’s always on my face. It’s something I definitely need to work on, can you do face training?? That’s what I need.
I’ve also never thought I’d ever do this sort of thing because I’ve never had the confidence. I’m not exactly a size 4, and I’m not exactly the usual idea of “pretty”, I’m not a VS model or a “tv ready” person, and I would definitely never even be considered for something like Love Island, but I’ve been working on my confidence and this has definitely helped with that and I really, really enjoyed myself. I've set myself a goal to get to a place where I'd be comfortable posting a swimsuit picture as part of a holiday spam like everyone else on my Instagram timeline.
I can’t wait to work alongside the talent that is Yasmine again! Please please please go check her work out! Shes a very talented young woman who is not only a great photographer, but also an established journalist and Youtuber!
